Hi, I'm Kate - the owner of Just One Thing and the sewist creating all the items for sale here.
I live with my partner, our two sons and our daughter just outside of Toronto, Ontario.
I am committed to doing what I can to reduce waste in an ethical manner and helping to provide what you need to do the same.
Along with the store, I regularly update the Just One Thing blog with thrifting and sewing tips and tricks, simple lifestyle ideas to move towards a greener life and I share delicious, easy, vegan recipes as well.
Our Story
Inclusive, Eco-Friendly & Canadian Made
Just One Thing is owned and operated in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada where I create one of a kind hand sewn garments and accessories using reclaimed fabrics.
I am committed to providing quality items while reducing waste and the demand for manufacturing. Items created this way are unique and eco-friendly. While some items in the store can be replicated, more often than not this isn’t the case given the nature of the materials used.
Where safety and/or functionality is an issue, snaps and zippers for example, new materials will be utilized.
This is an LGBTQ+ and BIPOC friendly space and I will only use patterns written by inclusive designers.
I love my customers and welcome your feedback and suggestions. Use my contact page to tell me what I’m doing right or what I can improve on.
